Memorial Day was low key for us this year. We wanted to spend the day as a family, but with Norah and Justin's birthday party at the end of the week, we had to balance family time with work time. Daddy took Norah and Justin to our neighbor's house to go swimming. She has invited us over on numerous occasions, but we've never been able to go until today. While they were playing I worked on laundry and cleaning, taking advantage of Daddy occupying the kids.
The kids had a GREAT time and came back home talking over each other, jabbering a mile a minute to tell me what they had been up to! After a quick lunch, a couple of stories (during which Norah had to dress up and Justin had to sit on Daddy's head) and a nap, we were ready to hang out with Uncles Phillip and Russell, who joined us for dinner.
As we enjoyed our day, the flag flew on the front porch in remembrance of the men and women who have served and those who continue to serve our country. While our country is not perfect, we value our rights and freedoms that they help protect and are forever grateful for their sacrifices. God bless them all.
