Story Time

Today was really cool. I was about to read a story to the kids when Norah shooed me away and informed me that she was going to read to Justin. I expected his cooperation to last no more than 5 seconds, but was pleasantly surprised when Justin sat beside her and listened to her narration. She has not memorized the words of the story, but knows the outcome well enough to give an accurate and enthusiastic summary. She chose to read an "Olivia" book, back to front. Her "key words" description is pretty entertaining if you are familiar with the energetic exploits of the main character from bedtime- timeout, dinner, and paint.

She is definitely picking up on her parents' behavior. She told Justin specifically that she would only read 1 story, and repeated herself to insure he understood the terms of their agreement, but immediately scrambled to get another book when she reached the end, or rather, the beginning of the book.

Look Mommy! They are getting along!
