The kid's loved exploring Grandma and Grandpa's house, however the novelty of the staircase never dulled. Every member of the family toned their calf muscles and got a little cardio workout as we took turns chasing kids up and down the staircase. That evening, Heather and I enjoyed the novelty of a giant steak dinner, after which we decided to have our gift exchange.
The kids were particularly excited since they have gotten the knack of gift opening during the holiday season. They transformed the living room into a disaster in record time. Everyone was in the Christmas spirit, happy and smiling. Norah and Justin were very pleased with things, as were their Mom and Dad.
We went to church the next morning, had a nice lunch, and began to stuff the car full of bags, boxes, and goodies. As we were preparing to go home, Grandma and Aunt Sara brought out some sidewalk chalk, and both kids happily scribbled across the driveway as we loaded the car. It was hard to get in the car and say our goodbyes, but we all had a really relaxing and fun time together.
