Waiting for Daddy

Our daily routine has come to include waiting for Daddy to come home in the evenings. About 10 minutes before Jeff is due to arrive home, Norah and I go into her bedroom, roll up the blinds, and wait. She stands at the sill (it's very low to the ground) and looks out the window. She starts to yell and pound her fists against the glass when he doesn't arrive soon enough and will begin to alternate between playing with her toys and keeping a look out for her daddy.

When Jeff finally pulls up, she starts to bob up and down, and then screeches when she sees him get out of the car. With a huge smile on her face she will start to beat the window, then press her face up against it, making sure that she can see him.....and that he has seen her. Jeff will stand for a moment outside the window waving to her, then come inside.

Norah will continue to look for him, then turn around and head over to the front door when she hears him come in.

I have to admit that I really enjoy watching this ritual, and I have a feeling that this is Jeff's favorite part of the day. Who could blame him?!
