I Get A Little Help

Jeff spent the weekend desperately trying to complete the painting in the nursery. Norah and I tried to stay out of his way as much as possible but were only marginally successful. Saturday night Jeff worked on taping off the base boards, windows, and trim around the doors.

It doesn't sound like a lot, but he had spent the day moving all the furniture out of the room or to the center of it, mowing and trimming the lawn and hedges, working in the garden and helping around the house with things I'm unable to do right now. So by that evening he was exhausted but determined to start and finish the painting in the same day.

Norah went crawling through the house on a mission to find her daddy (and the source of the crazy music) and was incredibly excited to find him - on the floor with blue tape in his hands! She tried to help him by grabbing and eating the roll of tape, climbing all over him, playing with his hair, and chasing him.

I don't know that Norah's help hastened the completion of the paint job, but it definitely made the process more fun. She loved the blue tape, and made every effort to sabotage the drop cloths. She's a very good little helper, as long as you're not serious about getting too much done!

Despite all the help, the painting was neither started or completed Saturday. After church and Sunday school Jeff managed to get all the painting finished before dinner. He is just that good.
