I've started playfulling calling the kids "turkeys" or "knuckleheads" when they do something ornery, crazy, or destructive. I never thought it would have any consequences, but I've evidently opened a can of worms. Heather is quick to point out that she warned of this, but was completely ignored. I contend she was only "mostly" ignored.
Justin has created his own playful names, namely "Buoy hoo!" and "Pooeyhan-Pooeyhan!" Not even Justin knows what they mean, but both kids have started using them constantly in a context similar to how one might use "turkey." At times Justin can't string two sentences together without using one of these, and his casual response to our questions is almost always "Okay, Pooey-han!" Ironically, if you use these words in reference to the kids, they often act as if you have just used the most coarse language possible. It makes one think Mom is probably about to be notified that Dad was "cussing" at them.
It looks like the day of the "cuss jar" is at hand until we correct everyone's behavior, even Daddy's.
