Norah has done exceptionally well with potty training. We are very proud of her and feel it is safe to say that we are done with the daytime aspect of it for now. She wears "big girl panties" all day everyday. Every now and then we put her in a pull up for nap time if she is extremely tired, but accidents are now few and far between. We will work on the night time potty training next.
As a reward for her efforts, I told her that when she was wearing big girl panties all the time, I would paint her finger and toe nails. This morning after a family run through the park, I sat down with her before breakfast and gave her her first "mani/pedi".
She was so excited that she could hardly sit still, but she sat very nicely for me, and waited while I worked. Once I was finished I told her she had to sit for a minute to let them dry. She did so for longer than I expected, before she ran through the house to show Justin and Daddy. For the rest of the day I noticed her holding out her hands and looking at her fingers. She also was very careful, and tried to avoid hitting them against the furniture or toys around the house. She still claimed that they were chipped and tried everything to convince me to paint them again!
At one point she came running up to me and said with a smile, "Mommy, I LOVE it!" I explained to her that she earned it by trying so hard and that we were very proud of her.
