Most kids like to sit on their dad's back and pretend he's a horse, but not our kids. The kids each imagine their daddy differently. Justin insists on riding an elephant, but Norah has adamantly insisted he's a tiger. Sometimes she goes for rides, and she often commands him to "lay down and take a nap", but her favorite command is "Get JUSTIN!"
The kids are constantly going to the "water park" which translates to all the couch cushions being pushed to the floor and then dived upon. Usually at some point a crocodile comes and they are forced to flee to higher ground. Sometimes they are pirates, although most of the time Norah is a princess and she informs Justin that he is a prince. They get very upset when anyone goes to clean it all up because then they can't go to the water park anymore. We should probably specify that they also consider our friend's pool, the playground in our backyard, and the mall playground to be water parks.
Norah and Justin received these coloring trays from their Aunt Sara for their birthday and have never once used them for their intended purpose. Instead they pretend that they are on a boat, sailing across the water. Sometimes they must avoid crocodiles, sometimes they simply enjoy a peaceful ride. We love them sharing their vivid imaginations, taking ordinary objects, and having great adventures. It's fun for us, but imagine what they must be picturing.
