Justin

Justin is still quite the cuddle bug and likes expressing love through hugs. At several points throughout the day he will approach his Mommy or Daddy and say "Hold you me", which is our cue to pick him up and cuddle with him for a minute. He's very active and doesn't stick around for long, but he just needs a quick hug recharge before he tears off on another adventure.

Somehow Justin's strong fascination with tools and his vivid imagination has turned Norah's magic wand into a weed whacker. He roams through the house brandishing his "wee-whacker", in search of grass to trim. This drives Norah crazy, but I'm holding out hope that this fascination with lawn work will last through his teen years. We can dream can't we?

Justin loves his food, that's well known, but what we don't normally talk about is his Mealtime Happy Dance. As he's eating, he will suddenly break out into a little dance where he bobbles his head from side to side and wiggles his shoulders and hips.

After watching me play softball one night (You're skills are weak old man), Justin now demands that we pitch balls to him. He has always liked whacking things with his bat, but now he is determined to hit a pitched ball- any kind of ball. He regularly provides me with a football or basketball, occasionally even a baseball then scampers across the room and yells "Throw AGAIN!" He typically swings before the ball leaves the pitcher's hand, but he's a man on a mission and never gives up.

Justin has also started throwing EVERYTHING! He throws from more arm angles than Dennis Eckersley. When he wants to throw to someone, he's amazingly accurate, but most of the time he just throws because he likes to throw. Projectiles hurdle like scud missiles through the air, haphazardly ricocheting off the house and it's occupants. We have yet to find a successful means of discouraging this, since taking said item away only results in him picking up and flinging something else with a side-arm motion.

The one show that Justin enjoys watching is Hi-5, where 5 people sing dance, tell stories, and make believe all different things. One of his favorite is an episode where one of the guys is pretending to be an astronaut and is "walking on the moon". He says it very slowly as he pretends to bounce through space. Not long after watching it, I noticed Justin walking slowly with a great deal of exaggeration, while saying "walkin' on da moon!"
