At my 36 (and 1/2) week doctor's appointment we discovered that not only has he dropped (I guessed right on that one) but I have also begun to dilate. The doctor set an induction date of June 23rd but was changed to the 24th because the hospital was booked for inductions that day. From this point on we will see the doctor once a week until our little guy's arrival.
The nursery along with all of the clothes, blankets, etc. are almost set up the way I want them to be. The car seats have been installed (we had to move Norah's) and inspected by the police department. All the paperwork with the hospital has been filled out and taken care of. My mom is here and ready to come over at a moment's notice to watch Norah for us. The hospital bag is also just about ready to go, much to Jeff's relief!
We have picked out a name for him at last, which is something we never thought we'd be able to do. Boys names are so much harder than girl names since we didn't want one that was in the top 10, we didn't want one that could be shortened to a nickname, and we didn't want one that would bring into question his gender. We did want one with meaning and that sounded good when you yelled it (the ultimate test)! We took a lot of time with Norah's name and were very pleased with our decision so we wanted to do the same with his.
As we get ready to slip back into the days and nights of sleep deprivation we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has been so supportive and excited about the arrival of our little boy. We will send out an announcement once we are headed to the hospital, and will definitely send out word once he is here.
This picture was taken of me at 36 weeks.
