Adieu Bottle!

I had spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out how in the world I was going to wean Norah off the bottle. I talked with my mom, who told me that at 9 months I saw a friend (older than me by SEVERAL months) taking her milk out of a cup. From that point on I refused to have anything other than milk in a cup. I didn't think it could possibly be that easy, and so continued to talk with my friends, and planned on discussing it with our pediatrician when we saw her next. Then to my surprise, Norah decided all on her own that she was done with bottles and formula.

On May 31st she finally figured out how to use a straw - cherry limeade proved to be just the right incentive. Then on June 6th she refused to take any more bottles. Up until then she had been refusing them at night, and sometimes throughout the day. So we decided to not offer her one at all and see what happened. She hasn't wanted once since!

In addition to no longer taking a bottle, Norah is broadening her culinary horizons, eating just about anything in sight, even broccoli!
