When Jeff and I picked out an OBGYN we had no idea that all we had to do was go to our closest Albertson's grocery store! After church we headed over to the grocery store to get our food for the coming week. I requested some hamburger meat and got more than I bargained for:
Dr. Butcher Block M.D. : "So when's the baby due?"
Me: "June 14th"
Dr. Butcher Block M.D.: "Wow you're big! When did you start to blossom?"
Me: "Uh...?"
Dr. Butcher Block M.D.:"So how far along are you?"
Me: "32 weeks." I responded with a slightly confused look on my face.
Dr. Butcher Block M.D.: "I didn't blossom until 5 or 6 months along, but got to over 200 pounds. I never recovered. Can I get anything else for you?"
That mostly ended the external dialogue, but Jeff and I were thinking the same thing, "I'm in my 8th month, have gained a total of 6 pounds and the doctor says I'm right on track....Dr. Butcher Block M.D Medicine Woman, gained all her weight in her 5th or 6th month, inflated to over 200 pounds...and I look big?"
Thank goodness I don't have to make sense of it all, I'm surrounded by experts. Sorry...it's the hormones!
