Boot Camp

In the world of infertility women undergoing treatments are (unofficially) classified as being in the trenches and once they have conceived they are then known as veterans. Therefore, I am considered a veteran which is why I find it immensely amusing that Jeff is the one that attended boot camp!

When I registered us for the hospital classes that we needed to take, I found out that they provided a free class for new dads-to-be called Daddy Boot Camp. It is a class that focuses on pregnancy and child care from a guy's perspective. They had several speakers come and talk to the class, provided lots of snacks, and gave out lots of free goodies! It sounded like Jeff had a really good time so I am really glad that he decided to attend. He was pretty excited about the class, and I'm mildly surprised he didn't take his camouflaged diaper bag with him to show off to the other dads to be.

Jeff is now much more excited about the early months of fatherhood after hearing about some of their brain development techniques. His personal favorite involves taking the baby to Home Depot and play show and tell with all the nuts, bolts and tools. This forms a bond between father and daughter through direct communication as well as forming math and verbal skills. Hopefully she doesn't become fluent in her Dad's normal home improvement language, examples of which are inappropriate for a family site such as this.
