Happy Halloween

Arrgh Matey!

Justin wanted to be a pirate for Halloween (and had informed us of his choice three months prior), specifically Captain Hook. For someone who doesn't like bad guys in movies, he sure was excited to be one for Halloween. He even let Daddy give him a pirate mustache and goatee.

Norah wanted to be a princess again this year.

We tried talking her into being someone other than Snow White since that's who she was last year, but she remained adamant, and who are we to argue? She makes a very beautiful little Snow White after all! She even let me put a bow in her hair!

Our two trick or treaters ready to head out!

One last picture before we headed over to our friend's house to start the evening off!

Christian, Ava, Norah and Justin looking adorable in their Halloween costumes, ready to go and get some candy!

Justin and Norah sort of standing with all the other kids as they got ready to hit the pavement!

The three little ones of the group looking adorable!

A quick family photo before we headed to the next house (notice Snow White's bow is already gone).

As the evening progressed we stressed to the kids that they needed to say "Trick or Treat?" or "Happy Halloween" when going up to front doors, and to say "Thank you" when they received their treats. For the most part they were really good about it and Jeff and I were very proud of them. Justin made it up one street and then back down before he was too tired to continue. Jeff took him back to our friend's house to help hand out candy, while Dominika and I stayed with the rest of the kids.

Norah turned to me at one point and said, "Mommy, I just need one more candy. Just one more." I completely understood! It also became obvious that the lessons from the evening had taken affect because she came back from receiving her candy, looked at me and said, "Mommy, that man didn't say thank you." I tried to explain that he didn't need to, but it was obvious that I was just not making sense to her. As we turned the last corner and made our way back to the house, Norah looked around her, stopped dead in her tracks, and asked, "Where's Justin and Daddy?" It made me laugh that she hadn't noticed their absence until the very end.

We had a great time visiting with our friends, taking the kids trick or treating, and watching them as they enjoyed themselves.
