Resetting the Crib

Today started off like any other. There I was, listening to the soft babble coming from Justin's room when all of a sudden I heard a loud thud. I was already running by the time the crying started, knowing exactly what had happened. Our house is very small so both nurseries are only footsteps away from our room. By the time I flew into Justin's room he had already pulled himself up, and was standing in the middle of his room sobbing, with a very dazed and confused look on his face. Our poor baby fell out of his crib! We found a pacifier and blanket and cuddled together in his chair until he calmed down. There were no obvious bumps or bruises so I just watched him the whole day, and informed Jeff that his project that evening while I was at work was to lower Justin's mattress.

When I returned home that night, Jeff told me about the crib lowering adventure with two very interested little ones coming to investigate. He removed everything from the crib and laid it on it's side while the kids were occupied for a moment. Then he used the "Divide and Conquer" tactic to get the rest done. He turned on a movie for Norah so that she was entertained, then he only had to keep Justin from hurting himself.

Apparently Justin saw his room in disarray and was obviously trying to figure out what was going on. He kept staring in through the doorway and pointing towards his bed, trying to get Jeff to tell him who had trashed his room. That caught Norah's attention just long enough for her to point and say "Mess!" I was relieved to hear that while he had a great deal of help, the process went smoothly. He even had a chance to take pictures!!
