15 Months

Another month has slipped by and Justin turned 15 months today. This has been a crazy month with lots of things happening as summer comes to a close. At his 15 month well baby check up we learned that he is now 25 lbs, 1.5 oz, and 31.5 inches tall. He is still perfectly proportioned and is staying in the 75%-90% range for his height and weight. He is currently cutting the last four teeth, but they have yet to make an appearance.

In terms of development, he is now trying to dress himself with whatever piece of clothing he can snatch from the laundry hamper (regardless of who it belongs to). In the pictures above he had located a black tank top of mine that was just the right size to struggle in to. He was very proud of himself, wearing it like a little toga!

Justin has come to enjoy sitting on the stools at the kitchen counter, where he "helps" me cook and eats both his lunch and breakfast. He thinks he is very cool getting to sit so high up, and while it may look like an awfully long way down, he's very confident in his maneuvers.

In regards to his vocabulary, he learned to say "up" when he wants to be picked up. We still have to remind him to say it fairly regularly as he prefers to use the "shriek and reach" technique instead. We have resolved to work with him more during the coming weeks to improve his verbal communication skills.

Most animals still growl according to him, but wolves howl (which sounds really cute since it's a little baby wolf howl)! It's actually a lot of fun running through the list of animals and their sounds. As long as you ask what a lion, bear, panther, cheetah, dog, or any other such animal says, he will get it right. Ask about chickens, pigs, cats, cows, fish, etc. and it actually becomes pretty entertaining imagining those animals growling! We will work more on animal sounds next month too.
Perhaps Justin's favorite time of the day (other than meal time) is getting to play on our bed at the end of the evening. After we have finished dinner and bathed both babies, Jeff chases them around our room, then throws them on the bed and tickles them. He normally has them giggling so hard they can barely breathe. They run away from him, but are quick to run back to catch his attention if he doesn't chase them fast enough.
