While in California we were fortunate to get to spend a couple days exploring and enjoying the beaches. Of course we had to stop by the Hotel Del Coronado where we played for a short amount of time in the sand and water. Justin was absolutely fascinated by the water and the texture of the sand. Norah had loved it previously and after a little bit of time she was back to enjoying herself immensely.
The babies enjoyed the beach so much that we made another trip out the following day. We played for about an hour and a half (which was the perfect amount of time as it turns out). Norah really just wanted to chase Alyssa and Syndi around the beach and didn't understand why she couldn't go out into the surf where the big girls play. That reality produced many tears, but she rallied after she discovered that she could throw rocks at the incoming waves.
The coolest thing about this day was that while we were getting ready to leave we spotted a small shark (probably a Nurse Shark) swimming through the sanctuary as well as a sting ray!
We also got to enjoy lunch over-looking the water and watched the seals playing in the surf. We even got to explore the tide pools and watch anemones and crabs.
