On June 16, 2008 at 6:34pm we welcomed Justin Daniel into our lives. Now, one year later we are amazed at how much he has changed. This month we have witnessed him adding more words to his vocabulary, begin walking on his own, and more. To celebrate this momentous day we actually kept things pretty low key. I made cupcakes and icing, Justin opened a few gifts from us, we enjoyed a quiet dinner together as a family, then watched Justin attack his cupcake. He definitely has a sweet tooth! It may not seem that impressive to anyone residing outside our home, but Justin's best new adaptation involves nap and bed time. We can now lay him down while he's still awake without provoking 30 - 60 minutes of crying afterward.
He is now 22 pounds 1 ounce which places him in the 50% for weight, and is 29.5 inches tall, also placing him in the 50% for height. Thus according to the doctors he is perfectly proportioned and who are we to argue about the perfectness of our child?
His vocabulary consists of Mommy, Daddy, Hi, Bye, Dog and Uh-oh, all of which are very clear. He is also trying to walk more often, though he still crawls the majority of the time. Cutting 4 molars at once for a couple of months now has not been at all fun for him, but we hope to see them break through any day now.
Justin is a joy and wonder to watch grow, and his beautiful smile, curious gaze and warm hugs are truly a blessing.
Happy Birthday Sweet Boy! We Love You!
