Norah turns 23 months today! She is now doing several new things that have us laughing, wiping away a tear (or two), and/or shaking our heads in amusement. Both Jeff and I agree that one of the sweetest things that she has really started saying is "I missed you guys!" How can that not melt your heart? She always gives us big hugs and smiles as she says this. It's extra cute because she says "you guys" whether said to one person or ten people.

Norah has also taken to watching Jeff and me very closely in the kitchen while we are making meals. As a result of her observations, she is constantly "cooking"! She can often be found walking through the house stirring random objects in a toy bowl with a spatula, whisk, or spoon. Hopefully she won't resist learning to cook as vehemently as I did, and will enjoy it as much as Jeff does and I do now.

"Rock a baby" is one of her favorite things to do right now. She will take any of one of her many babies, sit down and start to rock back and forth, holding them very tenderly. There have been several times when I will go looking for her, only to discover her in her bedroom, quietly rocking her babies.

Her sentences have become much more complex and she chatters non stop. She will tell us to "come" and will lead us by the hand to where she wants to go. She has also decided that if she doesn't feel you are properly paying attention to her, the best solution is to get so close that her face is almost touching the listener's and adamantly rattle off her opinion. Personal space has little meaning to an almost 2 year old.
