Spring is Near

We beat the crowds and enjoyed some family time at the Arboretum. It was a little cool outside but not bad for busy children or the parents that chase them.

Naturally Norah and Justin were much more impressed with the homestead replicas than the flower demonstration areas, although the water features were awfully tempting.

Justin followed his usual routine and constantly tested his boundaries. Despite all manner of interesting things nearby, he sprinted precariously downhill through uneven ground to seek an escape route beyond the perimeter fence. I guess the grass is always greener.

Our babies sitting at the spot where Jeff proposed.

An act of dare-deviltry caught in the act.

The kids were intrigued by the novelty of a picnic lunch on the lawn without highchairs and freedom choking straps. They ate like hummingbirds, zooming around the lawns, then buzzing back by the blanket for a moment for a taste of something.

As we sat, both kids made regular strafing runs, jumping on our shoulders and tickling us.

Everyone appreciated the long overdue leisure time in the sunshine.
