Winter Time Blues

This week has been a really rough one for this household. It started off great, but by Monday evening Justin was running a fever. Tuesday his fever had increased and Jeff came home from work early, fighting a stomach bug. Wednesday rolled around and it seemed like we were finally headed back to normal as Jeff was on the road to recovery and Justin's fever had broken. Thursday Jeff was back at work and Justin was running around like normal.

Then Friday morning I woke up feeling slightly off. I decided not to take the kids to their class since I was afraid I was coming down with the flu too. Unfortunately I was right as only hours later I couldn't stand without feeling like I was going to pass out, I hurt everywhere, and had splitting headache. I laid in bed while Norah sat next to me telling stories to make me feel better (they all began with "Once upon a time....") and Justin snuck into my bathroom and flushed the toilet repeatedly.

Fortunately Jeff's mom (who was driving through on her way to her sister's) stopped to watch the kids after they woke up from their nap until Jeff could get home. I was able to sleep and rest, although I did enjoy listening to Norah chatter to her about all sorts of stuff. Too bad I can't remember more about the day as I vaguely recall smiling as I listened to what she was saying.

Due to the late hour it was decided that Grandma would stay the night, then go with Daddy, Norah and Justin to Norah's ballet class. This plan gave Grandma the opportunity to watch the class we'd been talking about for so long, and me a chance to recover a little longer.

It was a long week and we are so glad that it ended on a positive note! Thanks for the help Grandma!
