Snow Angels

So much for spring. Punxsutawney Phil, this is all your fault. Who decided to put a groundhog in charge of the weather? Justin thought it looked like a mess outside when I got both babies up to look at all the snow that fell during the night. I'm sure our friends in the North East would laugh at our excitement over 7-10 inches of snow, but for here, have just an inch of REAL snow, not ice, is cause for celebration. Not only was it real snow, but it was a "packing snow", perfect for making snowmen and snowballs.

I quickly dressed all of us as warmly as I could, then dragged the kids outside with camera in hand. They weren't too sure about it at first, and thought I was crazy for walking in it. But soon they were playing in it, exploring, and making a snowman. Before we went in I had them help me make a few snowballs. Later that evening Jeff walked outside to meet us as soon as he got home from work. Little did he know that the kids and I had made ready for an ambush and bombarded him with snowballs! What the kids lacked in force and accuracy was evened out by giggling energy and determination. What an exciting couple of days it's been!

Norah all dressed up and ready to head outside.

Justin excited about going anywhere that isn't our house!

Both babies convinced I'm leading them to a trap of some sort by trying to get them to join me in the snow as cottonball size flakes float down from the sky.

Justin still skeptical that this "mess" is a good thing.

He spent a lot of time just sitting watching the snow come down.
