Today marks the first time that Jeff was finally able to feel our little boy kicking. I have been able to feel movement from about 15 weeks on. But between sweet Norah, a crazy schedule, and poor timing, he hasn't been able to feel anything. Then last night, as we were falling asleep, our little guy started to kick. I grabbed Jeff's hand and sure enough, this time he was able to feel him!
For a Daddy (according to Jeff), a moment of feeling the movements allows a direct connection making the baby tangible, much more than just a concept, date or reason for the house being turned inside-out and up-side down. That's much different than a mother's experience of a 24 hour per day, 7 day per week connection, with no breaks. Both parents are blessed with a unique, individual experience with the growing baby that will continue on long after his birth.
