Walk in the Park

In an attempt to get outside and move about, we made a short trip to a nature preserve near Granny and Gramps' house.

Norah and Justin walked with Granny, Gramps, Ryder, Aunt Sara and George. Justin was quick to claim a walking stick, as is his custom, and eventually began using it to draw pictures in the dirt. When that became boring, he began stirring up the dirt, creating little dust clouds. Norah and Justin both impressed everyone with their ability to find tiny bugs that nobody else even noticed. They are both very observant and enjoy examining their environment.

While the rest of the family walked, Heather and I ran 4 miles through the woods. We were surprised how quickly our marathon training left us, as we were huffing and puffing along the way. The wooded trails were poorly marked, and we thought for a moment that our fate may rely on rescue by the numerous Boy Scouts that made several encampments along the trail.
