Breakfast With Santa 2010

For the last few years we have taken advantage of our church's Breakfast with Santa event. This year we invited our friends along with my mom. We got up early so we could get dressed and take pictures before leaving. I was determined that at some point I was going to get our family Christmas picture.

We arrived at a decent time and enjoyed a breakfast of pancakes, sausage and juice. We all enjoyed seeing our friends, and there was lots of music, story telling and games. Before we knew it, it was time to get in line to see Santa. As we waited our turn, the elves helped Norah and Justin prepare their lists for Santa. The elves were surprised that Norah only wanted a "Yellow Barbie" (translation: blond Barbie) and Justin just wanted "Tools and trucks". I'm not sure if they are used to such short lists, but they went with it!

Both Jeff and I were expecting someone to break into tears, but to our great surprise they only stared blankly. Although it was obvious Norah was nervous, Justin did a great impression of Ralphie (though our Santa was MUCH nicer). The kids really didn't talk to him, but as we were walking out the door, they waved and said "Merry Christmas!"

While we waited for our pictures, we let the kids open their presents from their friends (we weren't organized enough this year to remember to bring theirs), then took lots of pictures of the kids all together. The sweetest pictures were of Aimee reading to Ava, Norah and Justin. The strangest picture is of Justin protecting his new toy from curious toddlers by laying on it. The funniest picture is of Norah and Ava, with Ava using her hand to lift Norah's chin up!!

What a great way to kick off the holiday season!
