Crazy Conversations

This morning Norah, Justin and I took Jeff to the train station. The kids were tired but very animated, keeping us laughing all the way there. As we pulled up we saw the train pulling into the station, so Jeff jumped out of the car, yelled "Love you guys!" and ran to catch the train (he would have been late if he'd had to wait for the next one).

Both Norah and Justin love getting hugs and kisses from their daddy as he leaves, and they were upset (particularly Norah) that he hadn't had time to do so. As the train pulled away from the station and we waited for the crossing arms to go up, she said, "I don't want Daddy to go to work every day. Now my heart's gone away."

It just about broke my heart to hear her disappointment, but I tried to keep the mood light by reminding them that their daddy loves them very much and we would be see him that evening. They both cheered up at that point and started pointing out the sights on the way home.

As we drove through each intersection Norah excitedly yelled "Green light! Green Light! It's Justin's favorite color!" and Justin responded, "Yeah, and green's my favorite color too!"
