Justin 22 Months - Beware

Justin has taken a new interest in pirates. When he's not playing with the pirates, he's talking about them or acting like one. He regularly finds oblong objects and brandishes them like swords, leaping forward to strike an imposing stance and growl "Ah- HAH!" Spectators, Norah in particular, would do well to respect his challenge- he will not hesitate to whack an inattentive "swab".

Justin is spirited, but not mean spirited. Regardless, you have to heed his warnings. He loves to sneak up on people and surprise them. You must be keenly aware of your surroundings if you decide to enter his strike zone and sit or kneel on the floor. Heather and I now speak in distracted sentence fragments, with our heads on a swivel because we must diligently listen for telltale giggling indicating an incoming ambush. 75% of the time you either see blue eyes peering around a corner, hear his giggles or the soft, quick footfalls of the ambush, but Lord help you for the other 25% of his banzai charges! These generally result in somebody getting impacted by a very hard head right in the midsection or the ribs, followed by a bear hug, then little fingers reaching for your ribs, as Justin smiles and says "Tickle, tickle, tickle, tickle!" before fleeing back into the shadows of another room to regroup and make another pass. He may look like Calvin, but he pounces like the "Homicidal, Psycho Jungle Cat" Hobbes.

He ultimately desires to surprise you and incite a counterattack. He loves being chased and tickled. Once caught he will squeal and giggle, begging you to stop, but once you comply he will look at you out of the corner of his eye and cry "Again!"
