Pirates and Butterflies

I recently decided that it was time to switch up the toys in the house. We periodically rotate toys so that the babies don't get bored and it gives us more space in the house. So I went through and packed away some and brought out others. With the season of Christmas now upon us I figured it was time to get out their Nativity set (among many other toys). Norah and Justin were delighted with the change and spent a great deal of time going through everything to see what was new and different. Of course even moving something to a different location is cause for excitement (again, I think we need to get out more).

Justin loves the little angel that sits on top of the stable and plays music when you push her down. Norah loves the little baby Jesus and is constantly asking about him and his mommy and daddy. Now if you ask her about it, she will quickly tell you "The baby's name is Jesus, and the butterfly sits on top and plays music. "

We also get a kick out of the fact that she refers to Noah's Ark as her pirate ship.

Much like her mother, Norah loves to read. She often disappears for long periods, only to be found sitting in a chair, looking at the pictures of her book or "reading" aloud. She doesn't recognize written words yet, but she knows the stories and loves to tell them "in her own words." Her version generally departs somewhat from the original, but it's more entertaining that way. Recently she has started climbing into our laps to read, but quickly tells us that she doesn't want us to read to her, she wants to read to us. We are very pleased to see her desire to read, ask, learn and interact.
