9 Months

Justin is 9 months old! At his doctor's appointment he weighed in at 20lbs 13.5 oz and is now 28 1/4 inches long. This places him in the 50 percentile for both height and weight. Our doctor is very pleased with his growth and pointed out that he is perfectly proportioned. He is right on schedule in terms of development (both gross and fine motor skills as well and mentally).

He has four teeth (three on the bottom) and one on the top left. Somewhat random I know, but we're getting there and as long as they come in, we don't care what order they chose to do so.

Justin's official first word is momma, which he repeats over and over sounding something like "mom mom momma". He loves to mimic and will try to do so when we make sounds with mouths, or whisper. He also is trying to add to his list of sounds he can make and we are noticing more letters being added to his vocabulary.

He is very playful and will "cough" to get our attention and to see us laugh. This cough is entirely fake and just adorable. He will do it repeatedly and giggle while doing it. We have also decided that he is our water baby. He continues to love bath time, but his favorite is the pool. He dolphin kicks, splashes and laughs the entire time he is in the water. I think he could spend all day in it and never want to get out.

One of his biggest achievements this month is being able to transition from being on his tummy to sitting up right! He has been so close for a month now, so it was wonderful to get to see him suddenly figure it out. Now he does it so seemlessly that I will leave the room for a minute (with him on his tummy) and when I return he is sitting up playing the piano. He has also started to pull himself up, and as you can see is VERY proud of himself, as he should be. I know we are!
