Sisterly Love

It's well documented that Norah is a very dedicated big sister. She truly loves Justin above just about all else. When she is brought into a room, she will ignore everyone, run to Justin's side, pat and kiss his head, and try to stuff his pacifier in his mouth.

Norah is all too eager to fetch Justin's pacifier at any moment. She can distinguish between his and hers, and if she spots one of his, she feels overwhelmingly compelled to return it to him immediately without sampling it herself. This is great in many ways. Justin regularly spits out his plug as we carry him through the house, causing it to fall to the floor. We no longer have to bend over to retrieve it. Norah is attuned to the sound of "pluggy down" and will scurry over and proudly hand it over to the proper authorities.

Problems arise when Justin is down at her level, as Justin doesn't always want his plug as much as Norah dutifully offers it. Sometimes in her excitement, she will even take the plug out of his mouth so she can give it back. This practice is wildly unpopular with baby brother and Mommy, but the spirit behind it is appreciated. Accuracy development is still a work in progress, so the plug often is closer to his eyes and nose than the intended target of his mouth. Again, very unpopular.

Norah also likes to help rock Justin in his swing, but much like the her pacifier retrieval service, this can get a little too helpful. Justin likes to be gently rocked, but Norah occasionally provides something akin to the "heavy metal rock" of baby swing assistance.
