Last weekend was incredibly important in Norah's life. She was Baptised on July 29th and as part of family tradition, we made it into a weekend to remember. We kicked off the weekend early on Thursday by introducing Norah to much of her extended family including my grandparents, aunts, uncle, and two cousins. Not everyone was able to make it out from California, but we were all grateful that so many could come.
Friday night we had a bowling and pizza party to celebrate the Summer birthdays of my brothers Phillip, Russell, and Matthew, my sister Alyssa, my Aunt Denise, and my Uncle Henry. We had a great time, although my bowling score was incredibly anemic. We also celebrated my Aunt Paula's completion of her chemotherapy!
Saturday night was our fajita and margarita party. We rented out the club house at my brothers' apartment complex as it was the only space big enough to contain all of us. We cranked up the music and spent the night dancing, singing and eating.
I was also able to surprise everyone with a very special fashion show. I was given a beautiful green dress by my Aunt Denise when I was born. She spent an entire paycheck on it, and my mom saved it for me. I had Norah model the two beautiful dresses that all my aunts and grandparents had gone to pick out for Norah (they're too big right now, but will be perfect in the spring!) and saved the dress from my aunt for last. She recognized it immediately and I have to say that Norah looked absolutely adorable in it. The evening was definitely a lot of fun, and I can only hope that Norah grows up to be as fun loving as her grandma and great aunts.
Sunday's ceremony was everything that we could have hoped for. Norah behaved beautifully, everyone was there to support her, and the party was great. Mom and Dad had a gorgeous cake made, beautiful flowers everywhere, and great food for all of the family and friends who were there to help us celebrate such an important day in Norah's life. This was a day that I had been dreaming about since we found out we were pregnant, and Mom and Dad could not have made it more perfect. Thank you both, again. We love you.
