Halloween 2011

Halloween was a fun filled day this year. Both kids picked out their costumes weeks in advance and asked every day if they could dress up. Norah decided on Belle and we found the perfect pink clip-on rose to go with her dress. Justin went the superhero route and picked Spiderman. Despite our firm belief that he wouldn't wear the hooded mask, he did so all night and was quite proud of himself.

We ate an early dinner, then headed over to our friend's house to start trick or treating. Justin woke up to early this morning, so he only made it down one street and back before declaring himself done for the evening. I took him back to the house to help hand out candy and visit with Dominika, while Jeff and Steve continued on with Norah and Ava.

Justin enjoyed munching on candy and cuddling with me. According to Jeff, Norah could have kept trick or treating the rest of the night. She had quite a haul of candy, filling her jack-o-lantern completely to the top. At one point, much to Jeff's chagrin, Norah asked a homeowner why they didn't have more lights, but the lady took it in stride. At least this year neither of the kids tried to go into anyone's house!

Overall we felt that the night was a success. The kids looked great in their costumes, we got to visit with friends, lots of candy was acquired, and everyone was worn out by the time we got home.

Happy Halloween!
