During our orientation class for Sunday school teachers, the coordinator told us one of the cardinal rules "Don't be afraid to mix the Playdough colors. That rule reminds some of us more compulsive straightener and organizer types not to get too bent out of shape over maintaining pristine conditions or strictly following lesson plans.

I decided to literally try this out at home with Norah and Justin while Heather was at work. I maintained composure with great effort, and resisted the overwhelming temptation to direct their play as they happily mashed and mixed the colors together. Ironically Justin furrowed his brow and was ticked off as we were putting things away and he realized he couldn't separate what he had been combined. He's definitely my kid.
