My birthday celebration was not the most glamorous, but it was a very fun time.
Jeff was relieved to not bring home "the gift of unemployment" this year for my birthday, but we decided to keep things cost effective anyway (which we did by celebrating a couple days early). I had a birthday coupon to a restaurant that covered my meal, we had rain checks for the theater (they lost power during our last date night), and Jeff's parents were passing through and offered to babysit the kids for us.
That may not seem like a big deal, but we got to dress up (Jeff actually wore a tie and not the traditional OSU t-shirt and cargo shorts!) and have dinner together in public, without high chair rebellions, catostrophic drink calamities, or condiment cleanups, AND we had whole conversations!
Since it was my birthday, Jeff told me to feel free to pick any movie I wanted, even if it was a "Chick-flick". He boasted about his "perfect mate" to anyone that would listen when I chose "Zombieland," the newest zombedy (Hybrid between Zombie horror and comedy).
Although the movie is not for everyone, we loved it and had a really great time. It made an already known fact more obvious- we need to get out more.
