Communicating

This morning Norah woke up before Justin, very early, and in an attempt to keep him asleep I brought her into bed with me. We were laying together playing quietly when we heard Justin start to fuss. She immediately started pointing to the door, saying "Jussie, Jussie". When I asked her if she wanted me to go get Justin, she nodded emphatically. Then, just to make sure I understood what I needed to do she started yelling "Jussie, Jussie, Baby, Baby" repeatedly until I went and got him. The three of us played on the bed for a couple more minutes and then headed out into the living room for breakfast.

I gave Norah a small bowl of cereal (no milk) to snack on while I fed Justin. She sat in her pink chair eating while I nursed Justin. At one point she got bored so she brought her snacks over to the chair we were sitting in. By this time Justin was done eating, and so could see when she left her cereal on the ottoman within his reach. He tried to grab them, she saw what he was doing and snatched them away, saying "Nooo! Nooo! Hot! Hot! Hot!" and shaking her head. Evidently "hot" has less to do with temperature than territory.
