All American Girls

We have discovered that Norah is following in the footsteps of her grandma, mom and aunt as she is already in love with dolls. So we decided that a girls day out at at the American Girl Doll Store was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. We spent the afternoon admiring all the beautiful dolls and for lunch ate at the Bistro. Norah was absolutely entranced by the dolls and would gladly have left with several of them in her little hands. However, since I had promised Jeff that I wouldn't spend all of his money, we just spent the time looking and had a blast doing it.

Alyssa and Norah liked several of the same dolls, and it was all poor Alyssa could do to restrain her very determined niece from attacking the displays! Norah desperately wanted to kiss the babies. Let's hope those same strong feelings of affection towards babies continues into this coming June and beyond!

At the Bistro, kids of all ages are encouraged to bring their dolls to lunch with them. If they come without their dolls, the Bistro will have them pick out a doll to have lunch with (the dolls get their own menus, high chairs, etc). So Norah was finally able to hold a doll and she smothered it in kisses!

Norah's attention was briefly diverted from her doll to the the napkin rings, which are stars that come in different colors and each have a different word on them. The game is to create sentences using all the words. But since she can't form sentences yet (at least ones we can understand) she quickly went back to trying to kiss and hug her doll while we played.

We were able to eventually pry the doll from her and return it to the restaurant. It was done carefully though as she does have a temper and those teeth are sharp!

Overall we had a really fun afternoon and look forward to future "girl only" outings!
