This year we decided to let the kids pick out their own ornaments for the tree. We were pleased by how well their chosen ornaments reflect their personalities. Justin, of course, picked Darth Vader to grace our tree, although we made a half-hearted push for Yoda instead. Considering his obsession with Star Wars this year, we were not surprised. We were pleased to see Norah branched out from her customary "Princess" theme and selected a beautiful butterfly to hang on the tree. The way she has been using color in her art work and her love of butterflies, it was a perfect choice.
Since we decorated the tree, Justin has become militant about light pollution from the overhead lights. If anyone dares to flip the wall switch so they can read a book, or look for something, Justin howls, "Turn off da lights so the tree can look beautiful!"
