Thanksgiving 2010

With my family at the house with the kids, Heather and I took an opportunity to drive to a local nature preserve for a chilly morning run as Mom and Sara scurried about the kitchen, whipping up the Thanksgiving feast. Our runs are normally solitary events, so it was refreshing to run together for a change.

Phillip, Russell and Patrick joined us at the house, and we all filled our plates with every traditional family recipe and more, followed by seconds and dessert. Football was viewed between yawns and cat naps as the kids chased Mom's Yorkie, Ryder, throughout the house, causing him to seek refuge in Dad's lap (a sure sign of his desperation).

Eventually Mom, Sara and Heather set out on a shopping excursion and returned a few hours later with their new finds. Tryptophan induced an early night for everyone and we enjoyed some well deserved rest for which we all were thankful, particularly Ryder.
