Globetrotting Grandparents on the Go Again

Since Jeff and I have been married, my parents and assorted siblings have lived in six different locations (2 different states, and a total of 3 countries). They are now getting ready to make yet another move, and to increase their total to 4 countries. It has been hard on all of us, but especially so on my parents, younger brother, and sister. We miss them very much when they are gone, and while we keep up with them through a web cam, phone calls, and email, it's not the same as seeing them in person. It is especially hard now that Norah knows them by name and asks for them on a regular basis (particularly when we pass the hotel), and Justin is interacting with them through smiles, hugs, and kisses.

We spent the evening together, and headed to dinner as a family for last time for the foreseeable future. Dinner was wonderful, Jeff and I got to chat with my parents and siblings, Norah got to eat next to her Aunt Lyssie and Justin got to play with his Papa. When we were done we headed back to my brothers' apartment. While Uncles Phillip and Russell showed Norah how to play Rock Band, Jeff and I helped load my parent's car and visit with them some more. There were lots of hugs and kisses and the evening came to a close all too quickly. We will miss them but will look forward to when they return for a visit and we can give them hugs and kisses in person.
