Time Flies

It is almost impossible to believe that our little girl is now 2 MONTHS old. The time is flying past, and we are enjoying every moment of it. At the doctor's office they weighed and measured her and we learned that our little girl is not so little anymore. She now weighs 11 lbs & 10.25 oz and measures 24.5" in length. That puts her in the 95% for height and the 90% for weight so she is off to a great start! She hated getting the shots though and was miserable the rest of the day, which was spent cuddling and crying. I am happy to report that she is now back to her sweet self.

Over the past two months she has changed a great deal, and she is really starting to interact with us. I received my first real smile from her on Wednesday July 18th, then got two more the next day. Jeff received his first smile from her on Friday the 20th. Up until this point only the fans, blinds, and thin air were privy to her smiles. It's pretty sad when you're jealous of inanimate objects....=)
She has also started cooing a lot more in recent days, and even tries to "sing" along with me when I sing to her. She loves to dance to music with me, so we will turn up the music and dance through the house together. We usually dance so much that it puts her right to sleep!

Bath time has also become a lot more fun for her and she spends it watching us and sucking on a very soapy thumb/hand/wrist/arm. As a matter of fact, she spends the majority of her time in my arms "tasting" my shoulder. She lays her head against my shoulder, with her mouth open and flicks her tongue in and out. Apparently I am a salt lick...! It's gotten to the point that I have had to change shirts because the sleeve is so wet.

We went to a specialist to confirm that the spot on her forehead is indeed a mole, and that it will need to be removed when she is older. Apparently when a mole like that is present at birth, the chances of it becoming cancerous are much higher than if it appears later on in life. The doctor recommends waiting until she is in her early teens to have it removed, but should people start teasing her about it before then, we will consider having it done earlier at which point Jeff will administer the unfortunate teasers an attitude adjustment of the highest order.

Norah continues to surprise and delight us on a constant basis, and we are reminded daily of how truly blessed we are.
